Sorry David1000 - - not sure if I understand what you are asking - you already CAN use the Delete key for most of the deletions - are you asking for something more

Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
In what situations? I can use the delete key just fine in X8, X7 etc.david1000 wrote:Would it be possible to have the option of using the Delete key for deletions? This is possible on AE, and seems far more sensible.
You have to be a lot more specific in your request.

Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
As a novice user of VS I think the comments by all have some merit but what do we expect from a budget editing program? I hardly use the more sophisticated capabilities already available to me yet I love what it can do. If there was one area that I would like to see improved it would be in the audio. I find the lack of definition for accurate sound levels frustrating and this has been commented on in various forms above. Fade volume does not reduce far enough. A simple fix I would have thought and should not require the purchase of sub-editing software. We perhaps need to keep our expectations relative to the market slot and those who wish professional standards may need to move up to a high spec program? Well done Corel for giving me a tool I can still afford in my retirement (I once remember paying well over $1000 for a program that was no better due to many in-built faults) I also would like to see some feedback from Corel to understand their value of our comments.

Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
I do so agree with your sentiments Skipper. VideoStudio is well priced and does most things people want from an editor. There are some on this Forum that want more and often unreasonable extras, whereas most users just want an easy to use and competent video editor. I do have another editor which I can't get on terms with but VS has become intuitive and I can get it to do everything I want.
I, like you, would like more control over the Audio Ducking. My wish is for better control over the speed of volume reduction, so control would vary from a step change to a slow volume reduction. VS does leave the volume change with the nodes that can be altered afterwards but if there are a number of "ducking" actions, control over all the actions globally would be an advantage. Audio Ducking is an excellent addition which could now do with tweaking.
Another area which IMO should now be included is multi camera synchronisation, again it can be done manually but an automatic alignment assist would be welcome.
I use two cameras and the alignment is based on the sound track from one of the units which is fiddly.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
That is not a limitation of Video Studio alone. The international Blu-Ray standard only allows Blu-Ray discs to use 50 full frames per second (or 60 for NTSC) if the frame size is no more that 1280 x 720. And I have no idea when this international standard might change. However, I totally agree it is very outdated.

Hi,
I am the user of VSX7U, I want to suggest the following features in VSX9:
1. Add Multilingual menu & tool tip support in the preference menu inside VS, NOT the Windows's Control Panel
2. Add support for VST audio FX or even VSTi for creating music in audio edit mode
Regards

Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
Hi All. I have been using Videostudio for a few weeks now and I'm quiet happy with it for my needs.
I would like to see two adjustments the program;
1. Currently when you insert a clip in the middle of a project for instance, it will insert OVER the clip already in the timeline and wouldn't give yo the option to adjust/fit with the rest of the project. What I think will be nice would be the ripple edit feature to work with inserting clips also so to make the rest of the project move along or sync also.
2. I would like to have better capabilities of the audio mixer and time markers/stamp. I would like the option to change the timer to a countdown and to show remaining time and also for the audio mixer to have wave form matching to achieve audio syncing.
Thank you.
P.S Is it too soon ask when the next version of VS will be available? I can't wait already

Video Studio already has ripple editing which works in exactly the way you describe. But you have to enable it by clicking on the icons at the very left hand side of the timelines which looks like a small padlock.Andre36 wrote:1. Thank you. I believe I did try it before but the clips didn't move at all. Maybe I'm doing it wrong some how. Ill try it again on another project.

The User guides are not the greatest help in the world - but you will find some help on ripple editing on page 79 of the user guide for X8

Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
Ripple Editing is a key feature I am never without, but it was important for me to realise the ripple effect only works on the top track. I guess it would be pretty annoying to have to turn ripple off every time a new clip is added to any track.
As mentioned, I think the next biggest improvement for me would be the audio matching suggestion to lock audio tracks to video or each other in sync.
6 Audio tracks would be great for me.

Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
Hi. I've figured out the quandary I was having. Ripple editing only works in conjunction with the first video track, It does not work locking only the overlay tracks. This will be a useful feature to implement.Ken Berry wrote:Video Studio already has ripple editing which works in exactly the way you describe. Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
I can agree with the sentiments of loading down VSP with "stuff" that most people will never use. The problem with this thinking though is that if you are looking for an editor that has 20 solid great transitions and the box sitting next to it has 1000+ for the same price (and that is the case now), has multicam, and other "stuff" that looks prettier, which would the average consumer buy? The one with more "stuff" because they are getting "more". Oh, most of it will never be used and is "cheese", but that is what sells a product. You have 10 features, I have 200. I'll sell more. Human nature.
I personally would like a stable working platform. What good is all that additional "stuff" if it crashes every 10 minutes.
IF the 21 tracks could be anything you want them to be, this would really help "us" that need more than the number of audio tracks present. It would also "consolidate" the tracks since they can be whatever you want them to be. But then, who knows where Corel is going. They already have a product with over 2000+ effects and transitions and unlimited tracks that can be anything you want them to be.
VSP is awesome for the ease of learning and getting up and running. Maybe Corel wants to keep it that way? And if you want all the other "stuff", Pinnacle?
As I've said before, the editing experience is totally different between the two programs. Who knows?
But again for me, stability and the ability to edit hours without issues is most important.
