Much of the above I find superfluous. Fancy Dan transitions have their place on rare occasions. Pros don't go transition crazy-a sign of the amateur. Crossfades, Fade to Black and none are used most often.

Sure those three are the staple of any professional, but some of the available transitions provided with VS X8 (and other editions) can be used to good effect.pepegota wrote:Much of the above I find superfluous. There is one transition I think a lot would love, that would be something like a vertical shimmer effect, akin to a Sci-Fi transporter.
Used in the right manner, it could be used to show someone reflecting on the past.
A transition need not be a means to simply switch from one scene to another, it can be used to help show the direction of the story telling.

I couldn't have agree with you more pepegota, so I'll take it a step further. Z & Q are the very least used letters in English so why the hell do they take value space on my keyboard.pepegota wrote:Much of the above I find superfluous. Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
I would suggest to have 100 or more flexible tracks which can user configured to allocate number of video. audio, title or voice over tracks instead of fixed video, audio and title tracks
.
This will put to rest squabble about number of tracks for video audio etc.

And what would you do with a hundred tracks??? Total waste of memory which could be put to better use. 20-30 would be enough.babdi wrote:I would suggest to have 100 or more flexible tracks which can user configured to allocate number of video. audio, title or voice over tracks instead of fixed video, audio and title tracks.

Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
Sure most people are unlikely to use as many as 100 tracks, but then, as now, you could simply enable the number of tracks that you need for the purpose of your video.Terfyn wrote:And what would you do with a hundred tracks??? Flexibility is what s being asked for.

Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
Clearly flexibility is needed but lets keep it realistic. As it stands I would like a few more audio tracks, perhaps up to 6, especially with the audio ducking feature. 20 overlay tracks is quite adequate for most work.

Deinterlacing feature. Most softwares similiar to Corel Videostudio have much better options for deinterlacing.

What do you mean by "better options for deinterlacing"? Can you give an example?

As recommended by most dentists. Apply for at least two minutes three times a day.david1000 wrote:I WANT A ROTOBRUSH!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure what you mean by "rotobrush" - how different is that from the RotoPen which we already have.david1000 wrote:I WANT A ROTOBRUSH!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
Looked it up. It is a process that can apply a border to, say, a figure and isolate it from the background. This can be done but only frame by frame. Rotobrush applies the same "mask" to all the frames in a shot not just one at a time. It is a feature of Adobe After Effects.

It's nice to want a feature from a software that cost 600$ a year.Terfyn wrote:Looked it up. It is a process that can apply a border to, say, a figure and isolate it from the background. Re: Wishlist for VideoStudio X9
Yes it would be nice but I would prefer Corel to tighten up on some of the existing processes in VS X8.
I do not see myself using Rotobrush that much.
