Hi,
I have VS Ultimate X6.
When using two cameras to video a subject, there can be a variation in colour and exposure influenced by light, angles, camera brand and other factors. Assuming white balance settings and other factors are matched as best possible before recording, what is the recommended steps to take to match colour/brightness/contrast using Videostudio?
Trial and error methods often work but this can be after a couple of adjustments or a couple of hundred adjustments!
For example, is there a colour/exposure "dropper" that be clicked on one part of an image to measure colour or exposure and then with the data, use it to match the next image?
Are there recommended ordered steps to take? e.g. start with brightness first? start with colour balance FX filter first? start with something else?
Sometimes when the overall video clip is rendered, images from the two cameras are not matched even though they looked ok at edit stage.
Thanks

Yes Plus Presets and Temperature setting

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Tell me more. I'm aware under White balance there is a dropper to select the white in your film however I would love to use this more often but I find there's always artificial distortion created somewhere in the clip e.g. a plain wall can show "noise"

...is that noise present in the Exported file or only in the viewer in the editor...... I suggest you do a small sample and export the file and then look on a TV or your computer monitor.

Re: Matching exposure and colour on two cameras
Hi Tony,
The viewer does display the noise and unfortunately, once the clip is rendered (to HD) it is still there. The White Balance tool appears to work too excessively and adds in bands/gradients of either a hue or of a moving pixel effect in pale plain areas of white or cream.
I'd love to use this more often for quick hit solutions but I have to use the the time consuming Colour Balance filter as it doesn't introduce noise or waves.
Any more ideas?

Re: Matching exposure and colour on two cameras
Ouch..... sorry, none that are not time consuming.
I did a 3 camera shoot with 2 Canon's and one JVC. Guess which one had to be color matched.... in spite of manual white balance on all cameras. The JVC was "cooler".
Hey, that's the "fun" of editing. Learning how to do something "new".
