jerky playing video

Post by Irishrose »

Has anyone experienced a video clip playing in a jerky motion after inserting it into video studio pro x7?

I've inserted a video file into a project, trimmed the ends, and now it plays in a jerky motion. I did not alter the time duration of the clip, only trimmed the edges. Any idea what happened or how to correct the issue?

The video file plays normally in the preview window, but after inserting it into the project it is no longer a smooth video.

Could you right click on the file while in the timeline of VS and tell us it's properties.
It's possibly a file that isn't compatible with VS.

If you trimmed the edges, how did you not alter the time duration?

I am embarrassed to admit that I've solved the problem and all it took was restarting the computer.
Still, maybe someone else will have a similar glitch and this posting will help them.

Skier-hughes,

The video clip was not altered using the speed/time lapse features, just by trimming the edges.

It was odd, everything in the properties of the video clip was identical to other video clips within the same project. Only the one had the issue of jerky motion.
Anyway, problem solved. Thank you for your reply.

What do you mean by trimming the edges? Are you referring to cropping the image? That is not called trimming in video lingo
If you trim even one frame from the video the duration of the video has to change.

Thanks for letting us know you've solved the problem. Probably too many services running at one time and restarting stopped them.
