Problem with transition

Post by delboy007 »

I have used a nice little transition for "The End" and the problem is when the animation is finished the text dissappears. I want the animation to stop and the text to stay on the screen. How can I do that?

The other thing is what if I want just a plain title with no animation? When I right click on a title there is an option to "remove motion" but that is always greyed out

Sorry I do not understand your statement that you have used a transition for the end - then you talk about a title - what exactly have you used

To make a plain title click on the large 'T' at the right hand side of the preview screen - then in the preview screen where it says "Double click to add a title" - - double click - and type your title - click anywhere else on screen to get out of the title mode - and you have a plain title - if you want a plain background for your title then pull a plain color block down from the color library and put it in the video track where you want the title

If it's the same as the beginning I've just used, the title text will be in the title layer of the timeline and you can just drag it out so that it stays on for the amount of time you want. You might be able to right click and choose properties and make it exactly the length you want down to the frame, but I didn't try that.

Take a snapshot of the last frame showing "the End" and then insert that image at the point at the point before the text disappears. You can then adjust that image to make the text show for as long as you want

thanks. the snapshot idea is a good workaround but I still don't understand why the "remove motion" option is always greyed out? I would expect to copy the end title and then simply remove the motion from the copy.

I think the problem is in "translation"
You referred to transition but I think you applied custom motion.
Unless you will show us your screen at that point with the relevant menu, we can't help you much

The 'remove motion" is greyed out because most of the titles do not have custom motion applied to them - many of them use Animation or Filters which are not classed as motion effect - when you click on the title in the timeline open the 'Options' panel and change to the "Attributes" tab and there you can see what has been applied
