I Successfully Captured 2 hours of MPEG 2 with VOB of 3200 Kbits/sec. Then after the 3rd hour, the MPEG capture/encoding stops after 16 seconds.

Its strange!! why was it working and now it stops after 16 seconds? The record timer is not on, i never use it.

I really dont think my PC cant handle it.

Its AMD athlon 64 3000+
1 GIG OCZ ram
2x WD Caviar SE 320gig harddrives RAID 0

I am using a canopus ADVC110 with a firewire pci card.

I really cant figure it out, after multiple reboots it still wont cpature more then 16 seconds.

maybe my CPU is just too hot?

You should capture in DV (avi) and not MPEG.
for a clue please view From Camcorder to DVD

I have a clue.

The problem here is that this is a bug. if you try to capture in VS10 two times in a row, your settings for audio go back to 64bps. Once you start to capture it will stop around 17 seconds. I have no idea why.

Now to solve this problem i have to go out of capture mode and into edit, and back into capture. Reset the MPEG capture setttings twice and it will stay. then it capture without stopping.

I capture in MPEG 2 VBR becuase i do NO EDITING. For my project i just need the video as is in DVD's with uniform menus.

ppl on this forum are really cocky for some reason and think every noob doesnt have "a clue".
