Very nice review - Aftershot Pro 2 vs Lr 5
Re: Very nice review - Aftershot Pro 2 vs Lr 5
Yep, good review.
While waiting for ASP2 to come on board with the new Canon 7D Mk2 raw support I tried several other programs and couldn't find anything I liked as well as ASP2, but settled for Lightroom and found the quality of my images improved a little bit especially within highlight recovery which is not something necessary on every shot but when I do need it I can have that software tool in my box. ASP2 goes pink in the really washed out whites of clouds and when shooting BIF's on sunny days it's almost impossible to get detail in the birds without blowing out some clouds. ASP2 needs some refinements and as each update comes around it is improving, maybe this will be the year when it comes of age and all raw edits can be done in one program. I've been a Corel user since the first version of CorelDraw back in the 80's and have used PhotoPaint almost exclusively for image editing since. Oh, and BTW the reviewer doesn't know Lightroom as well as he says if he has to click around to zoom in and out of an image, I agree that ASP2 is easy to zoom in and out with the scroll wheel on your mouse or tablet, Lightroom will do the same you just have to press the Ctl. key while you roll the wheel. Learning the shortcut keys makes any program easier to operate in place of clicking through menus. Hopefully ASP2-point-whatever will address more problems, I'm keeping it in my toolbox to see.

Nice reviews. However they missed the biggest workflow timesavers in AfterShot with the multi-view and the lock button where you can compare, ajust, rate, delete large number of images quickly. AfterShot is completely alone to offer this. I did notify them in a comment about this on their FB page...
