Normal usage of the text tool

Post by setsiba »

Good Day
Im new to both this forum and PSP X6.
I am trying to use text and my characters are too far from each other! How do I bring them back together.
For example: I want MASTER but I get M A S T E R
Please assist.

Adjusting the "Tracking' or "Kerning" values.

On the tool options toolbar when you have the text tool selected you should see two options for "Kerning" and "Tracking" these are right after the "Auto kern" checkbox.

If you don't see these options look for a white triangle pointing to the right. Sometimes the options on the bar are too long to fit so they get auto-hidden. Click on that white triangle to reveal more options.

Kerning and Tracking deal with spacing between characters. Both should be set to 0.

Thank you so much.
I have set both parameters to 0 and everything seems to be hunky-dory!
