Not enough disc space

Post by PRB14 »

When I try to burn my DVD project it tells me there is not enough disc space. Project is 969MB and it shows no space available (in red numbers). I have a brand new DVD+RW in my drive but it doesnt show 4.7GB available, it shows 0.00. Is it possible it doesn't recognize my DVD writer?

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

We had umpteen previous threads to the same subject. Do you have any packet CD writing software installed? This sometimes hijacks a new, blank CD inserted into the drive and locks the drive for access by other programs. Apart from that, we haven't really got any info from you other that it doesn't work.

Only software I use for writing to CD's are Sonic Record Now, Sonic My DVD and Ulead Picture Show 2 & 3 Deluxe. BTW when I tried to create a DVD using PictureShow 2 it did recognized the DVD writer and created the DVD where Picture Show 3 did not..

Any other info needed? Thanks.

Check your startup for Sonic. Go to Start, Run, type in 'msconfig'. This brings up your sytem configuration. Look at Startup and if any of the listed programs is Sonic or any other disc burning application, uncheck it.

Today I decided to create the DVD CD again and when it came to "not enough space on disc. Do you want to continue or cancel?" I continued and it created a DVD CD which ran fine on my DVD player.

Anyone know what is happening?
