hello when import an externasl subtitle can i adjust teh distance between the lines?

You are now regarded as the expert on sub-titles as you seem to do so much of it - you should be telling us how to do it

have you tried opening the subtitle editor and deleting the spaces in there.

simply import subs with subtitle editor or drag in to the timeline

You can try to open the first sub with that problem in the regular titles editor
change the line spacing parameter
Copy this sub attribute
and by selecting all the "troubled" subs apply that attribute and they will be corrected.
