Will play in mine-Not his

Post by DoubleJ »

i have a dvd question maybe someone can help.
I burned a dvd+r disk and it played in my dvd player and in my computer and in my comuter at work.
I sent it to a guy on the other side of the country who has a computer that burns dvd+r's and he burns dvd+r's that he playes in his players.

Well, why won't my disk play in his players?

Stupid aint it??

This might not be what's happening, but can you define "other side of the country" -- that doesn't mean in another country, does it?

If so, then you might have different Standards (i.e. one might using NTSC, and the other using PAL).

Or, it could be that his DVD Player just doesn't read your brand of +R discs (not all discs are created equal).

Can you play one of his discs :?:

Hey
well, im on the east coast and he's on the west coast. I thought of the brand disk. I guess I can burn another and send him. I would love to see if I can play one of his.
Thanx

Ask him what he is using that works on his player:
Brand
Speed
Type

Change the BOOKTYPE of your DVD+R's to DVD-ROM right before
you burn them and they will be more compatible.

And equally important, what exactly did you burn to the DVD? Does he have the required codec's to view it?
