Someone mention it in another post.
Can you do multicam with X7?
I have X4 and X5, and I'm waiting for X7 to be in Spanish.

You can do multi-cam in all of the recent releases - if you are prepared to put a bit of work into the editing

it depends on EXACTLY what you mean by multi-cam editing - many of us have been making videos from multi camera filming using Videostudio for many years.

Sorry Brian perhaps I don't explain myself correctly.
What I mean is, how to do it?
I have never tried to do it.
Any tutorial?
I know that Magix Video Studio has an option to do so.
Thanks again from Catalonia!

Have a look at this tutorial on multi-cam editing by forum member Bob Kovacs - he is using X4 in the tutorial so you can use the same procedure in X6 or X7

I am really disappointed with the new version of Corel VideoStudio X8,
It's almost the same thing as X7, almost no improvement !

First it crashed at it first start when it was building is new libraries.

It's like Corel had just made some small change and replace the 7 by an 8 and that all.

The negative points:
o No changes in terms resize windows motion tracking and custom motion windows are always the same size and you can not resize them.
o Still nothing to synchronized video and audio tracks or compatibility to XML.
o Library management still doesn’t have sub folders.
o Screen Capture we already had this no improvement here.
o FastFlick is exactly the same with the same demo clips
o Many things are exactly like in the X7
o Freeze frame only work on track 1

The positive points:
o The new ScoreFitter Music is a very nice addition to the previous release X7.
o A very small improvement in Motion tracking settings we can have the mosaic in a circle.
o An improvement that seems more interesting than others is with masks, I will try this in detail and see how good this is!!
o A big improvement now we has a small green checkmark to avoid reusing the same footage in our project. Wow !!!
o A few new transition and FX with ProDAD nice.
o The new NewBlue Background Generator nice too
o The new sound auto leveling is also a nice addition.

X7 and X8 for me are the same; the sad thing is than we will have to wait a year again to see more in the X9 or maybe if we are lucky in a SP1 of X8.

I feel like It was a wastes of our time with this topic in Forum Wishlist for Version X8. Maybe I should ask for a refund (30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee)

Joel

That's incorrect, with screen capture you now have the ability to record system sound AND microphone recording at the same time

2. Now have the ability to convert titles to Alpha channel
3. Now have multiple project editing
4. New overlay options

That's just a few of the improvements in VSX8

You wouldn't expect anything else, like all other NLEs released each year, it's an upgrade, not a complete rebuild from the ground up, and of course, exceptional value for money, compared to other NLEs on the market.

However I do agree that Corel could have been more proactive with new features and many sound suggestions in the VSX8 wish list have been ignored.

For me, removal of SmartSound is a big disappointment, as I have an extensive music library, now means that if I want to use SmartSound, I will have to edit with Sonicfire Pro, then import into VSX8
Not sure I like the new VSL with us now being required to pay for tutorials, Hope Gripps YouTube channel will have VSX8 tutorials soon

But overall I am happy with VSX8, it's still the easiest NLE on the market to learn

I don’t want to start a debate on what is the difference between an upgrade and new software released to customers.

Upgrades-Updates are mainly to fix bugs, add or correct functionality and they are usually free.

Software releases to customers are normally new build with new functionalities and many times included major improvements, usually sold for good money to many customers. Customers who have expectations about where they spend their monies.

This is not a service pack or the release X7.1 but a new official release X8 normal that customer have big expectation.

And I never said that nothing was good with X8 but only that many customers have taken personal time to write recommendations and suggestions and that only some of them were used.

PS When you buy all the release it start to be a expensive software

X4 X5 X6 X7 X8 = $$$$$$$$
