Problems Loading File

Post by BLG »

I just downloaded a trial version of VideoStudio Pro X7 and I'm having issues. I first tried to install the 64 bit version on my Windows 8.1 computer but the installer kept giving me an error so i installed 32 bit instead. It opens up and seems ok until I try to open a media file. The program just shuts down immediately. I downloaded it on my other computer (windows 7) and am having the exact same issue. I load a sound file no problem, but the second I try to load a media file, poof! It's gone.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?

The first thing we need to know is what are the properties of you "media file" - normally we would ask you to right click on it in the timeline and read the properties - but if it will not load you obviously can't do that.

so what is the file extension - where did the media file originate from - does it load and run in any programme on your computer.

That the 64 bit version wouldn't install correctly might tell us something about why videos don't work on your computer. What was the error you got? VS x7 Pro installed and runs fine on my 8.1 computer.
What do you mean by "open" media? Do you mean import video into Library, play video from Library, drag video into timeline, play video from timeline, or play video in preview mode?
