Hello, just downloaded Ultimate X7. Wanting to know how I can save/archive the original files on some external media in case of hard drive failure etc. Since it's 6.67 GB, I guess DVD is out.
Thanks!

Re: Backing up original program files
Not at all sure how you managed to have 6.67 GB - all of my programme downloads have only been around the 2Gb each file - you should have two downloaded files one "VSX7_Ultimate_PF_x64.exe" (or similar depending on what version you bought) and the other "VSX7_Ultimate_Bonus_x64.exe" each can therefore be burnt to their own DVD
Don't forget to add a little text file to each DVD holding the serial number of the programme - you'll also need that if yo have to do a re-install

Re: Backing up original program files
Hi
I save my files to disc and to a separate drive as a backup, and like Brian save the serial numbers and any other details.
You can download both 64 bit and 32 bit versions, that may be the reason for the 6.67 Gb
I would save the 64 bit and 32 bit to separate discs, A DVD disc will hold 4.3Gb (4.7Gb)
The ultimate + bonus files are approx 3.5 Gb

Re: Backing up original program files
Thank you all, yes, my bad. There are separate, smaller files in the folder. It hadn't occurred to me about saving them individually on DVD. I'll do that today. Will also put them on some other external media.
