Hi, i try to put my video file to program, and i get message ''No valid clip''. I have SJ 4000 sport camera, file format is .mov. I try diferent way add file, but get the same message. I download other video editing program, and every think working good.
Program shows me that My video file is like Audio... why?

Hi tomkis

Welcome to the forums.

There are lots of Mov video formats, camera manufacturers tweaking the codecs for whatever reason, this leaves the video editors catching up with the new Movs.

Corel have created a Hot Fix for one problem, whether that fixes your issue?
Unfortunately I am having problems with the Corel Knowledge Base for downloading this fix.

I have uploaded to my One Drive, hope fully you should be able to download.

Do a search of the Corel Knowledge Base there may be other fixes, I know there was a GoPro mp4 fix, I think?

If the fix does not work, can you provide a sample, try using One Drive or DropBox.

Hi tomkis

Thanks for the sample, unfortunately I also have a problem with that file using X7.
I am able to add to the library and timelines, the properties show ok, showing 229 frames
The video shows all black, well transparent, but no error messages.

Can you make sure you have installed QuickTime, required for Mov, I would have thought yes as X7 should install that?

The sample does however play ok using earlier versions, works for Video Studio X6.

As the Hot Fix was a replacement file ulmp4lib.dll

I have copied the file from X6, can you try using that in your 32 Bit version of X7.
I have the 64 bit X7 version installed so cannot try that file?

Hmmm

Not good that it crashes, I assume that is when using the SJ 4000 video files, otherwise replace the file back to original.

You may be best in contacting Corel Support to report this problem.

How long have you owned the program, is your free support still valid.?

Corel have a Facebook account, staffed by corel employees, that may be the route to support, worth a try.

I will do a few more tests but don’t think I will improve things.

As a workround you may be best in converting the clips before using in VS.
I used Format Factory ( free converter) to convert the sample to Mov, properties are similar except audio.
The new file seems ok in X7

Hi

I did test the X6 version and that played your video ok, pity you cannot trial that?
I have sent a file to your private e-mail

Rename the file in this folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X6 to “ulmp4lib_copy”
Then copy and paste the new file.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X6

I am not sure if this will work but worth a try
