Video Suite Pro X5 installation problem
I got the photo & video suite X5 as a gift and I was able to install the Paintshop Pro X5 with no problem but I can not install the VideoStudio Pro X5. After I insert the serial number and hit install the screen goes to the install screen and says "we are configuring Direct X" and then after about 30 seconds it flips to a screen that says "Installation Wizard not complete" "Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again." "Click finish to exit the wizard" "-9". I have tried several times to install this and I can't get past this prompt.

Re: Video Suite Pro X5 installation problem
While you are waiting for an answer, you might try:
You might do a search of your D: drive( is there no C:, or is that not a Windows drive?) for Video Studio prox5, and delete it, and try again
Think about downloading something like Ccleaner to delete VStudio x5 from the registry, and try the installation again.

Re: Video Suite Pro X5 installation problem
I confess I too was a bit worried about the System Drive being D:\. I wondered if the VS installation was failing because it was wanting to install on C:\...

Re: Video Suite Pro X5 installation problem
Hi
Corel do sell a PhotoVideo Suite, the latest is X7, a little surprised that you have been given X5 version which is quite old as thing go.
Do you know if the software was purchased from the Corel site?
Is the software a Disc or Download file?
If disc when installing make sure you add a description to the Company name along with the User name and Serial Number.
I think its Company Name, I usually insert "Home" whatever fill in all boxes.
I don think the download version requires a company name???????

Re: Video Suite Pro X5 installation problem
I am aware that PhotoVideo Suite X7 is available. But I just wanted a program to do a little editing for my photos and videos and not spend a lot for it. I'm not a die hard editor so that's why I requested for the PhotoVideo Suite X5. It was bought new in the box with discs included. And according to the specs on the side of the box the program can be installed on my system (windows 7). I really didn't think it would be this difficult. Corel made a simple suggestion to fix the issue and then advised to of course buy the newest version if their suggestion didn't work. And of course it didn't work which is why I'm here. I'm not going to spend $75 dollars for a program I'm not going to use a lot. I think my issue can be resolved with my computer system and the VX X5 I have. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has ran into this problem.

Re: Video Suite Pro X5 installation problem
Hi
I have provided a Cleanup file for X5, that should remove any leftover files for VS X5
Then try a re-install, remember to fill in all boxes.
You could also try copying the disc content to your hard drive, then try installing from those files?

Re: Video Suite Pro X5 installation problem
Thank you for the cleanup file. I tried both suggestions running the cleanup before each time and neither worked. Still the same prompt. Is there an issue with the DierctX that when it says its configuring it and wont go past that part?

Re: Video Suite Pro X5 installation problem
As far as I know there should be no problems with Direct X.
You can download Direct X from here:-
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... px?id=8109
yep it does show as June 2010
First create a folder on your desktop.
Run the installation file to extract its content files
Run SETUP.exe to install.
Then try installing the program again.
I have just installed as above and my pc is still working.

Re: Video Suite Pro X5 installation problem
So I downloaded the DirectX update, extracted the files and ran Setup. After the installation begins I get this error message called DirectX Setup: An internal system error occurred. Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine problem.

Hi
As I said I ran that Direct X installation without problems, so it would appear something on your pc is causing that problem.
Have you installed all Windows Auto Updates, also check Optional updates?
