Hi

There should be no problems in installing X6 32 bit program on a windows 64 bit platform.
I don’t have Windows 8, only windows 7, but as far as I know Ken uses W8.1 I assume with X6 installed if it were simply W8.1 and CVSX6 then we would be inundated with similar problems.

As I said the only problem I had was with my wifes Lenovo laptop, and that was brand new but caused all sorts of strange problems running Video Studio, a year on and I found a driver update, never thought of looking as the laptop was brand new.

Do you have any other problems in using X6, using the library samples I assume work ok.

Try downloading CVSX7 64 bit trial version, hopefully that will work ok, and if not then its pointing back to the computer not the program?

Just confirming that, as Trevor suggested, I have no trouble at all with X6 (or X7) running on my Win 8.1 64 bit. I assume that since the laptop was new, it came with Win 8.1 already installed, rather than Win 8 which was then updated to Win 8.1...?

Thank you for everybody!

Yes the laptop came with preinstalled W8.1, and as I already wrote the first 2 days Toshiba just updated everything on the computer. Since that time we just installed the MS office. Activated the McAfee ( was also preinstalled) and the VSX6. Nothing else is on the laptop.

Definitively he can use his title clip actually in any format ( incl. the m2t), only he will not see the content in the preview window. The rendered files can be played back with VLC and it works on other computers.
( I checked for him the m2t, mp4 and also the wmv versions) the rendered clips were always working on my computer and also now with the VLC on his computer.)

Hi Trevor

As I told you, suprisingly we experienced less troubles with the VSX6 on the laptop as I had on my W7 computer. Everything works fine, all effects and other critical things are working very smooth and fast. He is learning how to use the VSX6 so till about last week we did not rendered any his project yet. He just came to the idea to create some starting clip for his future videos and this was the first case when we used the rendering on his laptop and run into the described troubles.
Now we have a workaround so he can continue in the learning process.
Once later we will update to X7.

It is quite strange. My son created yesterday a short but quite complex animation with lot of complex different movements. In animation edit window the clip worked perfectly in the main GUI the clip did not work ( no video) but when added to time axis to a second clip ( any) to create a project the video was playable on time axis in project mode. That means there is no video when individual clip is selected - does not matter from archive or from the time axis. When the project is selected the video clips on the time axis work properly. The rendered video does not play in VS, plays with W media player or VLC and also in VS when placed on te time axis together with other clips ( a single clip on time axis does nit play). The video format does not play a role!
