Can not clean install X6 on new PC...

Upgraded new PC (another Windows 7 machine) and had initial problem installing my X6 as computer rebooted during install. I deleted using Windows Program uninstaller. Now when I run the install disc, it goes directly to asking me if I am sure I want to UNINSTALL. I have tried uninstalling, but I get the error "this is for programs that are already installed". I have searched the forums and found an X7 cleanup file and ran it, but same problem. I tried installing to different folder, but no joy. I then tried downloading and installing the X7 trial version and that has installed perfectly. Any thoughts or ideas?

The second page of this thread has an x6 clean up file, though at this point it may not work either.

I would suggest getting Ccleaner from Piriform and use it to clean your registry. Run it until no more issues are listed.
I am troubled by the restart during installation. Random shutdowns could mean other problems.

That was it Bob, Thank you so much. I was foolishly installing several programs at same time, that's why I had the initial shutdown that cause the problem. Now that I have X7 installed for 30 days, I will take it for a test spin. Thank you again for the post and the link !!
