VS8 Video Filter problem

Post by Nala »

I have split the audio from a clip and applied a Brightness and Contrast video filter, then changed it to a preset option. On playback the brightness increases through the clip. I tried customising the filter and the same thing happens. How can I fix the brightness as a constant?

I have had this problem for some time and have added partch 1 to the programme but this does not solve it. Please can anyone help.

when you cusstomised the filter it sounds likeyou have only adjused the first part to adjust the whole clip do your setting then move the jog bae on the ''original'' side to the right and alter the end as well and that will eliminate the problem

To elaborate on that, the filter is applied between two or more keyframes, and it can be customized at each keyframe. If the settings aren't identical, you will notice a progressive change between the two keyframes.

Let's assume that you use a filter to adjust the brightness, and at the first keyframe, you set the brightness to -100 so the image is very dark (the possible adjustments range from -100 to +100, but they do not represent total blackness and total whiteness). If you do not make the same adjustment at the second keyframe that is at the end of the video clip, the brightness there will be the default of 50. As a result, when you play the video, it will fade in from very dark to normal brightness over the duration of the video.

Many thanks for your help - problem solved, I clearly did not understand the instructions in the manual and on the help screens.

Or you can upgrade to VideoStudio 9 since its has a dedicated enhance video tool where you can modify the contrast, brightness, color, etc.
