Re: Simple question about the copy feature
I have done nothing special regarding this in X7. Yet when I copy a clip in the timeline, the copy appears attached to the mouse cursor (with a little icon of a hand with digit extended), and I can move the copy and place it anywhere I want by left clicking. However, I am not aware of any control which can alter the behaviour associated with Copy... so I can't be of much help.

I can probably infer (partly from what you're saying) what's going on now.Ken Berry wrote:I have done nothing special regarding this in X7. Because the segments that I want to copy are far ahead of where I want to place it. So that when I click on the
copy option and then move the cursor down to scroll the track to the other end, the copy feature gets called off.
And YES, when I just want to copy a simple image and then paste to its immediate vicinity, it works perfectly fine.
Anyone knows how to retrieve this? THANKS!

Re: Simple question about the copy feature
You could always try simply "parking" it first in one of the overlay tracks, and then clicking it again and holding the left button down, and dragging it along the overlay track to where you want it to go and then dragging it up into the main timeline at that point.

Re: Simple question about the copy feature
I'm finding it easier to add things from the library. Even if you are in the middle of a project and you need to add an image. Since you have to browse to the image anyway, why not do it from within VS. Add it to the library then you can drag it where ever you need it.
