Soundtrack volume reduction not functioning properly

Post by sealilly »

Strange one today,I have finished a corporate video and added a soundtrack. Opening logo and text lasts for 10 seconds. I set my soundtrack level at normal level to start, then reduce at 10 second mark to -15 for main video. When I preview, all is normal, however when I render the soundtrack, the resulting video does not reduce its volume level till about 15 seconds. I have tried many things including remove soundtrack all together and start over, but no matter what it will not work. Any suggestions?

If you haven't already fixed this then ......

I'm assuming you are controlling volume by opening the Sound Mixer and creating nodes to drag around.

You can also control volume by splitting the track at the point you want the volume to change, selecting the new track, select the blue options tab, if not open then select the video tab. You will see a speaker icon with a 100 next to it . Change that to 50, or lower. Not as elegant as the node method, but it should work.

Thanks Bob, Yes, i mix sound via adjusting the nodes all the time, this was just a rare problem. I ended up just splitting the clip and volume worked fine. It was just strange how it would work fine in the preview but after rendering it was all messed up. End of the day, all is well :)

Hi sealily

Although you seem to have found a solution in split audio.

Next time, try rendering without Smart Render

Sometimes Smart Render is not as smart as the name suggests
