PSP X2 closes unexpectantly

Now Paint Shop opens then closes down. It says that there is a problem and needs to close, but no explanation or error. I tried reinstalling again, but same thing. Even tried adding the patch, but no go. I have the boxed edition of the PSP X2. The first time I installed it, it worked, but with problems. Now I can't do anything. HELP!
