I've been using VSPro x5 for a year. I'm familiar with the tools and features, but not so fluent with them.
I have a 20 minute .MP4 file I want to reduce to 10 minutes. I know how to shave it down to 10 minutes and save the file. However, I want to delete the original 20 minute file and only keep the edited 10 minute file. IN my first attempt, I slimmed the file to 10 minutes, deleted the original 20 min MP4 file. I couldn't launch the slimmed file down because the original wasn't there and I was missing the link.
I undeleted the original 20 min file. Then I tried to export the original file to a .MP4 after I shaved it down to 10 min. Still didn't work when I deleted the original file.
PLease advise the steps to do this.

Re: shortening an MP4 file
After you have slimmed the file down to 10 minutes in your timeline you must go to "Share" and create a NEW video of the 10 minute video - then you can delete the original.
Unless you go via that option then videos in VideoStudio are always linked to the original.
