Just downloaded the VideoStudio trial to see if it suits my needs. I imported .MOV files taken on my camera (Canon IXUS 120 IS) and dragged them to the timeline. They play but without sound. (Volume and laptop volume are on max.)
Windows Movie Maker plays the same files with a loud crackle added to the audio track (which is one reason I'm trying VideoStudio - Microsoft's forum team had no solution).
These files play fine in Windows Media Player and other playback programs. I seems I just have problems with them in editing software. The problem occurs with all my .MOV home movies taken over the past year, ever since I got a Win 8 laptop (previously I was using Win XP without problems, with the same camera).
I don't have this problem editing .MP4 videos taken on my Windows phone.
No audio on movies imported from camera

Re: No audio on movies imported from camera
Hi
Perhaps we could start by finding out exactly what we are dealing with
Could you please put one of the videos in the timeline of VideoStudio and RIGHT click on it - from the pop-up please choose 'properties' - then take a screen shot of the properties box and post it up here
to post image here please scroll down below the box you type your reply in and find and click on 'upload attachment' then follow prompts
