VS X5 snapshot quality
Hi. I downloaded a video and I want to capture some snapshots from the video. I have my preference as Bitmap instead of Jpeg-to me the Bitmap looked a little better. Some of the snapshots still look a little unsharp but when I use the FX with X5 I don't have as much individual control of sharpness-if I use too much it looks worse and there are only 6 choices. Is there a better way? I even tried in Windows gallery and that wasn't much better. Thanks!

You will generally get a better picture if you take the snapshot in 'clip' mode rather than project mode - however - you are taking an image from a video frame which (if it is a standard NTSC) is only 720 pixels by 480 pixels - far far smaller than any modern camera takes so if you are trying to view at any respectable size it is never going to be a 'good' image
Even if it is an HD video it's still only going to give you images much smaller than any conventional high res camera will take.
Video itself is quite low resolution and relies on the fact that you only see the image for a fraction of a second - some work after taking the snapshot in Paintshop or Photoshop may help.

How do I select "clip" mode?

Under the lower left corner of the preview screen are two little words - one is 'clip' - the other is 'project' - click on 'clip' to select clip mode.
