Andromeda Filters not running on PSP X7

Post by nounours18200 »

Hi Friends,

I own two (legal) copies of an old version of ANDROMEDA SHADOW and ANDROMEDA PERSPECTIVE filters.

I run Windows 7-64 bits and I have both Photoshop Pro installed (old version7...) and PSP X7 Ultimate. The filters installation runs OK, when they are installed in the Photoshop plugin directory as well as in the PSP X7 plugin directory.

These 2 filters require their serial number to be entered when you launch the plugin for the 1st time.

It runs without problem when I lauch the plugin from Photoshop, but I get the following error message when I run the filter from PSP X7: "personalization was unsuccessful".

And consequently i cannot us the filters with PSP X7.....

It does not seem to come from Windows 7-64bits because the registration is OK on Photoshop...

Any idea ?

Are you running 32-bit or 64-bit PSP X7? If 64-bit, are your Andromeda plug-ins 64-bit?

To take Kathy_9's reply a little further, when you install PSP X7 you are given the options of installing either the 32 or 64 bit version, or both. Many of us install both. So if you did that, then you would probably find that your Andromeda filters work in the 32 bit version. (That's why most of us install both versions since a variety of other filters also only work, as they were designed to, under the 32 bit version...)

I did install both versions of PSP X7, but unless I made an error, I face the problem on the 32 bit version as well as on the 64 bit version (same for PSP X6, for which I have installed the 2 versions).

I am going to check again to be absolutely sure that I tried to install on the 32 version , and I come back to you...

Thanks

Hi,

I confirm that I have inalled the ANDROMEDA plugins in the plugins directory of the 32 bits version of PSP X7 (located in c:\Program Fils(x86)\....),

So do you have any idea of a solution or anything else to check or try ?

Thanks

Have these plugins ever worked for you on Paint Shop Pro? The manufacturer's website shows compatibility with PS only. This doesn't mean it won't work with PSP but it's a possibility. Have you contacted Andromeda?

To date, I had used them only woth Photoshop, not PSP.
Have you contacted Andromeda?
Yes I did but they argued a 32/64 bits compatibility issue (and they suggested an upgrade), which is obviously not the case because they run OK under Photoshop...

I then explained them that they run under Photoshop, but no more reply from them...

Here is the ANDROMEDA reply:

Both Shadow and Perspective will be 32/64 bit compatible, but that is with the latest version. To get this comparability you would need to upgrade from the one your originally purchased. If you purchased the upgrade to Shadow you will need a longer "newer" Serial/Registration Number to use as your "old" number during the registration process. Please advise.
