Install Error using Corel Video Studio X7 Ultimate

I have purchase the 2 disc software from amazon a month ago and CAN NOT load/install.

Error reads: Fatal error during installation
Also, it states... you system has not been modified; please try another time.

Can someone help me with this?

Your profile states that you are using drive D: is that correct, Corel default installation is to drive C:

No it loads on C drive. I thought it was ask about the drive which the disk is placed.

You haven't given us much to go on have you

At what point do you get the error message - as soon as you put the disc in the drive ? - before or after it copies the set-up files to your 'C' drive ? -- after it unpacks but as it starts install ?? - during install ? - is it trying to install one of the peripherals at that point such as Quicktime or DirectX

It would begin the process of loading/run button then I get the error. (See attachment)
Do I need to have purchase the pro version first?

My steps:
I place disk into drive…
It ask if it’s a 32 or 64 system
I then, click 64
Once clicked, it begins to process of attempting to load…
3 sec into the process the error occurs.

No you do not need the pro version first

The pro and pro Ultimate versions are identical - it is just that the ultimate comes with some additional free content.

does it say any where on the packaging - or on either of the discs anything about being an "Upgrade" version

No Sir, it does not. I really don't know what to do at this point. I hope I haven't wasted 80 dollars.

Have your tried installing in Safe mode?

Another thing you could try would be to set up a new Profile in Windows, and try installing using that Profile. If that works, you can later delete the new Profile and VS should continue working.
