Did anyone find that the new version 2.1.1.9 is much slower when simply browsing pictures in the File System section when you navigate 'Next Image' (press ']' or right arrow)?
It takes about 2 seconds before the next image is displayed.
Version 2.0.3.25 and before that are all fast in browsing, navigating next or previous image is immediate, image is refreshed less than half a second.
Version 2.1.0.40 is the next release and I first realised navigating thru the images are slow.
Version 2.1.1.9 is the latest and the same slow speed in navigating thru the images.
The browing speed is quite significant since v2.0.3.25
They must have changed something.

Very slow indeed.

I tested the trial version 1.2.0.7, it is a lot faster in navigating files and rendering images, blazingly fast that it reacts instantly with left and right arrow keys. This is done on the same system where I also test run version 2.1.1.9.

Running 64 bit version on Windows with hardware acceleration on for Nvidia 660 and 4 cores, and for me navigation is much faster than 32 bit ASP 1 or 2.

I have decided to rollback and use version 2.0.3.25 for the faster images browsing.
Hopefully they will address this defect in the next new release.

Not only the file system is markably slower in V2.X, but opening a new catalog is very slooooow compared to V1.X. I really can't remember that switching to another catalog took that long before I upgraded to V2.X.
For easy navigation I have built a separate catalog for each year with a separate folder for each day. The catalogs is on a fast RAPTOR disk for speed.
I haven't measured any times but in V.1.X I think it was relatively quick to navigate from catalog to catalog, but in 2.1.1.9 it takes between 4 and 5 minutes to have any pictures showing when browsing to another catalog. I only use the 32 bit version installed and have still to try the 64 bit version as I do use plugins that is only available in 32 bit on many of my images, mainly the GradFilter.

Great news, new version 2.1.2.10 addressed the slow navigating pictures in the Files System. I'm back at fast browsing again.
