Hi All
Not for the first time I am trying to use VP&Z without success. No problem getting the filter on the clip and setting start and finish frames. No problem adding a middle frame with same attributes as start so things stay the same to this point. I then add another key frame and as soon as I try to move the red + the start key frame is activated (turns red) and any attributes I try to set apply to the beginning - often results in the opposite of what I am trying to achieve. Is there a work flow tutorial that I can look at. The tutorials I have looked at seem straight forward but I am missing a vital step.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: X7 videopan and zoom problem
You must ensure that the play back cursor - the one on top of the line where the key frames are - is aligned with the key frame diamond where you want to change some thing - normally if you just left click on the keyframe at the position you want to make changes the diamond will turn red and the upside down triangle which is the play cursor will align itself with the keyframe diamond - then any change you make to size or position will only apply at that point in the timeline.
So first make sure the keyframe diamond is red and the play cursor is aligned with it.

Re: X7 videopan and zoom problem
Thanks Brian and Trevor
Been out recording our parish carol service this evening which is why I want to crack this pan & zoom nut.
I will have another go later in the week to work out exactly what I am doing - I think I create a key point then drag the red + to the point I want to pan to - The cursor is above the red + but as soon as I touch the red cross the cursor flies back to the start point and that arrow tuns red,
Thanks for the input so far
Regards and have a happy Christmas

Re: X7 videopan and zoom problem
Hi Chris
Now I think I understand…..
With your key-point selected, use the anchor points (lower left) to move your key-point away from the middle, that will separate it from other key-frame/points
You should now be able to get hold without selecting the first key-frame.
Not sure whether to call them Key-Points or Key-Frames, don’t suppose it matters really………….
and a Happy Christmas to you Chris
