Strange "flicker" in preview window only?

Hell all, been using VS Pro for years but just purchased new camera (Sony NX3) shooting AVCHD. After importing footage, I get a strange flickering when watching the preview window. I tried rendering a file and it does not show this flicker outside of VS, thank goodness. Would love to figure it out as its a bit annoying during editing. Any thoughts?

You should post a short clip for us to download and examine.

Are you setting VS to "same as first clip"? If the clip is 60i and VS is set to 60p there will be a lot of flicker on the preview screen.

I tried the "Enable 50/60" both ways and no difference. Below is a 20 second clip, first 10 secs shows the problem when viewin g the AVCHD file, the second is after I rendered same clip as MP4:
