screen width

Post by wibo »

Hallo,
I do not know for what reason, but I have in the main line some pieces of the movie
that have black areas on both side of the screen.
How can I make the screen be filled 100 pct, is there a way to do that in Video Pro X7.
It is not mentioned in the manual nor do I see correspondence about this issue in youtube as well.
Hope somebody can help me out.

Hello

are you sure that when these clips are played on a conventional TV they do not fill the screen - I ask that because you cannot rely on the preview screen within VideoStudio being exactly the same format as a TV - you can pull the screen in VideoStudio to almost any width and height.

If you are sure you are viewing it correctly you can stretch the image within VideoStudio to fill the screen - BUT - why do these movies not fill the screen - are they maybe 4:3 format in a 16:9 window or are they some other odd format.

If they are indeed something like 4:3 then stretching them to fit the screen will distort them - for instance any people in the video will become very fat and wide - something any ladies in the video will not like at all.

so try it if you want to - put your video in the video track and Double click on it - this will open the 'Options' panel which has two tabs on it - by default the panel opens at the videos tab - change to the 'Attributes' tab then you will see a small box next to the words "Distort clip" click the box to put a checkmark in it - you will then see yellow blocks around your picture which you can move with your mouse to make the picture fill the screen.

OR - you could put the videos in one of the overlay tracks where you will automatically have the option to stretch the image every whichway.

but as I say - look out for a distorted image if you do that
