In VideoStudio X6 (and maybe X7) when you open 1080p video and then add 1080px photo as an overlay track to use it as mask the photo is autmaticaly reduced to some kind of 25% size of the preview screen.
Also, after clicking alignment options and Original size to expect 1080px bitmap nicely fit 1080p video IT DOESN'T HAPPEN! Instead it is enlarged in relation to the video preview size inside the program.
Why is that? Does this make sense? Why Corel includes an option like Original size if it is useless because apparently image sizes work only in relation to visual size of the video preview.
I tried to change video size in the project settings but there are only low resolution options available. Please tell me that I am missing something here? (apart from the option fit to screen)
How to make Alignment Options with Original Size work?

Because the original size of your photo is likely to be around 4000 x 2250 pixels or whatever combination your particular camera takes at the resolution you have set - but you video is only using something like 1920 x 1080 pixels - around a quarter the size of the photo - so of course if you choose original size it is going to overfill the video preview screen.
4000 x 2250 does not fit into 1920 x 1080.
Instead choose 'fit to screen' - but if as may happen some distortion occurs when you do that then first resize and crop if necessary to produce a photo with the same pixel size ratio as your video,

Hi
It is highly likely that your images are 3:2 ratio, a video frame will be either 4:3 or 16:9 for widescreen, I assume the latter.
Clearly your images are not going to fill the screen, in the same way that a 3:2 image on a web page will not fit a banner.
You are best using your image editor to crop the images to 16:9 ratio, retain the original pixels without re-sampling the images will retain the best quality.
