This is a bit of a long shot because this is Windows 10 x64, but maybe Win 8.1 is the same.
X7 goes to the start screen with the guy on the bike and the bar in the corner ticking over, and then just disappears with no error and doesn't start. The fast editor and screen capture programs work, but not the full x7.
I've run it straight, with admin, with exemptions in Win Sec Ess, reinstalled x64 about 5 times, x86 twice, but still no reliable start
Any ideas as to why

I have no idea but could only imagine it might have something to do with incompatibility with Win 10... but I would note here that X7 works fine with Win 8/8.1 in both x64 and x32...
