Can I copy a title or other item from one project to another
I would like to keep 2 versions of the same project so I can test out different approaches and see them. However, if I discover something nice in one version I might like to copy it to the other. Is there a way to do that?

You can save a custom title to the library and use it in any other project. To save a copy of anything in the timeline just left click on it and slide it up into an appropriate library pane - this will create a thumbnail in the library that you can drag back down as often as you wish - numerous times in one project if you want to
