Smart Carver

Post by rondo »

I had hopes for the Smart Carver feature when it was introduced several versions ago. However, after countless attempts at using it rarely can I get objects removed without the rest of the image becoming distorted. If it's a very small object to remove the distortion is minimal, but otherwise I just end up going back to Editor and using the Clone brush.
I've tried various re-sizing options with the Smart Carver controls after object removal with no luck as it doesn't seem to improve the distortion at all- resizing here to me is guesswork or some resizing calculator is needed- both options making this tool complicated and nearly useless.
Corel's tutorials don't address these issues with solutions, and perhaps I'm missing something. If I'm not, this feature needs some serious reworking as it hasn't changed since it's introduction.

Check out this Master Class video: http://scrapbookcampus.com/master-class ... rid-of-it/
It is accessible when you are logged in only (and only for another week or so).
It addresses various tools that can be used to remove elements, including the Smart Carver (that is not always that smart as you noticed!)
Hope it helps.
