I finally got the trial version to actually install on my laptop. Then all I got was nothing when I clicked on it. Little circle spinning........then nothing. I uninstalled it, deleted it from my computer, deleted the corel file from my programs and started over. Still nothing, program won't start. This time I went into uninstall programs and uninstalled all of the old C+++ redistributables, whatever the F#%@K they are and tried it again................voila! success. Installed perfectly asked me to check for updates, etc. ...............ready to rock???
Pipe dream. Now all I get is Cannot initialize Application, Screen resolution is not sufficient to launch the application..............................Suck my D!!! I know this is an 8 year old laptop, but 1280x800 isn't good enough for this program?? I don't need a giant screen to make a movie, just to watch it......................Never had this problem with Cyberlink.

Re: Video Studio X7 SUCKS!
Welcome to the forum - I hope you feel better after that.
First thing to establish is that NO ONE from Corel works on these forums - everyone including all mods and admins are users just like you , all giving their time freely to try and help users with problems.
Second thing to establish is that there are thousands of people using VideoStudio with almost no problem so it sounds as though the problem may be on your side - all of the admins here certainly use it regularly.
The recommended screen resolution to run VideoStudio is 1024 x 768 - BUT - it will not run at any resolution if you have set any sort of magnification on your screen - maybe to make text easier to read sometime - see below - if that dot is not in the 100% circle VS will not start.
Can you please first check in your 'personalisation' settings and confirm that you do not have any magnification set.
