Re: So
Congratulations
On letting us know which version of PSP you are using. So many make assumptions that we can read their mind and do not mention the version.
"So" A very uninspiring and nondescript heading, likely to be overlooked apart from its curiosity value. Perhaps "Trouble opening Picture Tubes in X7" would be more helpful and draw the tube experts to come and help. Remember to get the right fish you need to use the right bait.
Now to your problem :
Do you mean that a picture tube is opening in HDR Exposure Merge?
What is the name of your picture tube file including the ending? ie .tub ? .PspTube?
Are you double clicking it to open it or Right click and Open With?
Are you starting with Manage Mode or Edit mode? 32 bit X7 or 64 bit?
Have you tried putting the tube in a folder on your desktop and minimise that folder to the task bar.
Open PSP X7 in Edit mode, then click on the task bar folder tab to open it and drag and drop the tube into the workspace.
Or click the Open button under Edit on the Menu bar and navigate to the desktop folder and open it from there.
You must give enough information for others to be able to duplicate your problem.

Re: So
I checked the association for picture tubes in my computer and it is set for PSP X7, so if I double click on an x.PspTube file it opens in PSP X7. Don't know why changing association in Windows/Control Panel/Programs/Make a file always open in a specific program would not work for you.
So you have a choice of continuing to beat your head against the Merge wall or start by opening X7 first, then open the Tube file (or any other file) you want to work with.
