Instability with VideoStudio X6

Post by discocreeper101 »

I'm having a problem with stability with your product Corel VideoStudio Pro X6. When I try to export video from the program (in any format) in HD 1080p it crashes. It also does the same in HD 720P. :(
When exporting it will either; crash as soon as I hit "Save" or crash when the percentage gets up around 90%. (Note, I have tried the default export options as well as the custom option)

Welcome to the forums. First off, though you refer to "your product" as though the people running this forum produce the product. We don't. This is a user to user forum, and just uses the Corel servers. But none of us here is a Corel employee. We are all users like you who volunteer our time to help others.

That being said, it sounds very strange that X6 cannot produce 1080P or 720P video. Can you right click on the original video in the timeline and select Properties, then set them ALL out here, please. Then at least we will know what we are dealing with.

Can you also please explain exactly how you are trying to "export" the video. You refer to hitting "Save". Well, the Save (and Save As) commands in VS do not create video. They create and save a project file (.vsp) which is a small text file which tells VS what video is in the project, where it is located on the computer, and what editing has been done to it.

To produce video, you use the Share command, and then choose the output format.

Can you also tell us if you are trying to produce 25P/30P (PAL/NTSC) video or 50/60P... or even 24P...
