when i go from manage to adjust to edit it starts closing down stuff...
that is a real pain.

Use Manage to sort through thumbnails and find the image(s) you want to work with. You can use either Edit or Adjust to make changes to and image but not both. My preference by far is Edit, I stay away from Adjust (as I've written many times

If you make a change in Adjust, the file is closed when you leave Adjust. You are prompted if you would like to save the changes. I think, and your comment indicates this, if you have files open in Edit, then open a file in Adjust, when you leave Adjust everything in Edit closes. Adjust is not very friendly.

Thanks I get it now. Seems like it would be good to get rid of manage and adjust make them into tool bars ( they maybe now ) and just have edit then your work would always be open sesame.

In File > Preferences > General Program Preferences, the last entry is 'Default Launch Workspace'. You can specify Edit there, and in future, when you open PSP, it will automatically always open in Edit mode.
