Can't install VideoStudio Ultimate X7

I just bought VideoStudio Ultimate X7 (download) trying to install it on a Windows 8.1, 64Bit, i7 3630QM, 2.4Ghz, laptop.
I got so far to the Licence Agreement, checking de box on the left bottom (I accept the terms) and clicking on Next, does not do anything.

Yes, I do.
AfterShot 2, that came as a bonus with VS X7, was installed with no problem.

While I had no trouble installing X7 on my own Win 8.1 machine, some people have found they first need to create a new Windows Profile. Then log on to that Profile and try to install X7 again. If it installs and works, you can then delete the new Profile and use your original Profile.

Corel support couldn't install VideoStudio Ultimate X7, in my laptop, they said something wrong in my system.
It is anything on the Corel installation software that is different from other application installation?
I just downloaded and installed Pinnacle Studio 18 Ultimate with no problem.

Often when Windows doesn't respond, it's time to shut it down and let it think about it's sins. Then reboot and try the installation again. A shut down is better than a restart. Worth a shot, anyway.
I also had no trouble installing x7. x5 , a 32 bit application, did not run well on my 64 bit W8.1. So make sure you are installing the 64 bit version. I'm sure you are.

You could try stopping your antivirus during installation, doing a windows repair from the installation disc, or giving up on VS and using pinnacle

Yes, I am installing the 64Bit version. Yes, I shut down the laptop before the installation fails and the Bitdefender antivirus and firewall are disabled.
I also been using Pinnacle Studio for a long time and I am confortable and good with it, but I like the slideshow templates in VideoStudio. That is one of the reason why I bought it.

My last option, I only have (Corel) Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 18 and Ciberlink Director Suite 3 applications on this laptop. Tomorrow I will be re-installing the original O/S and software that came with this laptop to start from scrap.

Laptop reset to factory default settings.
Now is Windows 8, checked for updates, updates ran for a long time and finally is Windows 8.1, but I can't install Corel VideoStudio Ultimate.
Cyberlink and Pinnacle products re-installed also Adobe Master Collection CS6 with no problems, besides the long time to update.
I have to live without Videostudio.

Now the only thing that makes sense is that you have a corrupt download. Might be worth downloading again.

Finally Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X7 installed in my system.
I re-installed again the original O/S Windows 8 but this time did not install any update including the one to Windows 8.1.

With the exception of Corel-ProDad Adorage starter kit 64Bit, everything else was installed.
With Corel Prodad Adorage Starter I got an error "Failed to receive the last-modified response from the server".

Now my question is: If I upgrade to Windows 8.1 will be problem with this or any other application?

1st I'm not sure Restore will work with the 8.1 upgrade, but create a Restore point first.

2nd use manual update so you can pick and load updates a few at a time - may isolate the bad update -

3rd, if 8.1 upgrade can be downloaded manually and installed - I hate auto update - the changed files might sill be there so you can go back.

4th (best option) make a drive image - I use Paragon Backup and Restore boot disk -, so if doesn't work you can put it back to exactly where you left off - requires another partition -

5th Just keep slugging it out, installing and testing.

Mine installed in Windows 10 x64, but won't start when I want to use it

I am having the same issue. The instalation starts but it stops trying to configure DirectX. It is VAIO 64 bits notebook. I tried to restart the instalation twice and runing as administrator.... Any instruction?

After posting, I tried to reinstall VideoStudio Ultimate X7 changing the path for saving the files and it worked!
