I recently purchased the Corel VideoStudio Ultimate Pro X7. Download and installation were fine. The problem that I encountered trying to put together my first movie is that there is no audio on my imported mov file from my Canon cameras. I am able to playback with sound/audio on Window Media Player. I can even import the mov file to my Window Movie Maker and there is sound.
The mov file, the audio has 1595kbps, 2 channels (stereo) with 48 kHz when I left clicked on it. After imported the file to VideoStudio, it has no audio property at all.
Anyone has a solution to this problem?
Thanks for any reply.
*EDIT: I have Window 8.1. I checked the compatibility of the software, only for Window Vista and Windows 7.0.

Re: No Audio on Imported MOV file (Pro X7 Ultimate)
Hi alphag
Unfortunately there are hundreds of versions of Mov files, some Video Studio copes with and others give problems. It does appear that Video Studio is not reading the video correctly, leaving out the audio details.
You may be best to convert the mov to a more editable format using a Video Converter program.
Mov are very similar to MP4 and sometimes re-naming the file to use a MP4 extension works, you could try that.
If you can provide a sample video clip, uploaded to a sharing site I am willing to try on my pc, I do think I will have the same results.
By the way what Canon camera do you own, I have a 7D, the video from that does display ok.

I have a Rebel T3i as well as a SX260 HS. What I did after I posted the question above was to download the update SP1 from Corel VideoStudio Pro X7. It didn't help either.
I will try your suggestion on changing the ext file name and will update if that works or not. It is weird that it leaves our the audio part. The video part works find.
It is a bit troublesome to convert every mov file as I do have a lot of them to edit with in 1 project. Can you recommend a free video converter? Thanks in advance.

Hi
This may sound silly, but double click the clip to select it, opens the Options panel
Video Tab below the library,
Change the 100% volume level to 99%
Does the audio play?
Video Converter, I did a search of the internet last month and opted for Format Factory
http://www.pcfreetime.com/
Take care when installing free programs they tend to try to install Malware, This program installed ok, but cannot remember if I used the Custom install, then deselected the options.
