Going back to PhotoImpact 12

Post by Silver Hawk »

Great to find a Forum with people still actively using PhotoImpact. :)

I've probably been using PhotoImpact for the last 14+ years but in the last 3-4 years I've tried to migrate to Adobe Photoshop Elements --- first to version 8 but gave up...and then this year gave it another chance and tried Elements 12 for 3 months but have now given up on it again. I just cannot get on with Elements; it has lots of nice features but some truly nasty ones (like the Crop Tool!), so yesterday I decided to go back to using PhotoImpact 12 which was installed on the same Win 7 PC as Elements.

So a couple of questions please:

1) Is it worth upgrading from PhotoImpact 12 to X3? I've never seen X3 so no idea if there are any strong reasons to go to X3.

2) Where would I get X3 from?

3) Still a little nervous about use outdated, unsupported software, especially as I use photo editing software most days, but no way am I going to use Elements any more. It has been at least 10 years since I last looked at PSP, so I'm wondering if this is the way to go.....any views anyone?

Thanks for your time

Hi

PhotoImpact X3 link

The program is advertised on the US site, I think Corel at some time will stop selling this program.
I cannot tell what difference there is compared to earlier versions, I have X3 and don’t use much anyway.
I bought PI for its ability to create UFO DVD Menu Templates

There was a Beginners Workshop, which is now Self Study.

Download the trial whilst you can…..

Hi Silver Hawk,

There is a forum where there are a group of like-minded PI users at PIRC. It's free to join. You can do many projects, get help and advice about the software. You can click a link there to purchase X3 for $29.99US. There is still a Beginner's Workshop but it's no Self Study. You will find information about that in PIRC too.
