i did a scan of my pc the other night and the following was found on my pc within Ulead. the file is unchanged from the date is was out onto my pc.

Source: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD\ulStreamCache.dll
Description: The file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD\ulStreamCache.dll is a Adware threat.

I am going to get onto Mr Chan to see if he can shed any light as to this.

Can anyone else check with their virus scanner for this adware threat in vs9.

thanks Brian. I broke my own rule by not doing a search doh!

i have updated Tommy Chan @ ulead on this. he seems to be on the ball with this type of thing.

if it is genuine adware it is a little naughty methinks.

I've just run a full scan with Norton Antivirus - nothing found - no infection of any sort.

There's not much he can do -- the DLL is what it is. Symantec needs to fix their false positive by developing a better signature for that piece of adware.

Here is the response from Tommy @ Ulead (o ye of little faith!!!!)

Dear David,

We have contacted Symantec with this wrong detection problem and Symantec told us this problem can be solved by update the virus definition to the latest version. I hope this information helps.

Regards,

Tommy
