I have a quick question. I am running VS X7 Ultimate 64bit and one of the NewBlueFX filter I am using, that came with VS X7 Ultimate, is the ColorFast filter.
While using this filter and rendering a 6min-38sec video, I observed the following:
1. Not all the CPUs get used, at most I noticed that is uses 2 t0 4 CPUs but not all 8 (I have 4 core hyper-threading CPU).
2. Rendering the video it took about 2hours-40min to complete.
If applying the following filters "Enhance Lighting" and "Hue & Saturation" to same video, trying to get similar effect I get with ColorFast, I observed the following:
1. All 8 CPUs get used
2. Rendering the video it took around 8 minutes to complete.
I would like for anyone of you to verify if the new ColorFast filter uses all CPU's available.
Thanks,
- Wilfred

Re: Newblue FX filters question
Interesting 26 people had read this post, including the administrator (who moved this as its own post even though I asked the question under "Good News: NewblueFX compatible to Corel X7 now" since the people that created and responded to the post are using these filters) and myself, and no one has any comments... I was hoping those of you who might used these filters was able to confirm my issue.
Thanks,
- Wilfred

Hi Wilfred
I did read the post but have been somewhat busy of late, but will run a test to confirm your findings.
It is of course the weekend and the forum can be a little quieter, maybe more response on Monday.

Re: Newblue FX filters question
Whilst I have not had an issue with the ColorFast filter, I did have a similar problem with the TouchUp filter, where, when applied to a 6 second clip, it took 13 mins. to render, when using the same filter in Premiere Elements it took just 0.9 seconds to render the same clip. New Blue could not give a definitive answer.
There was a similar post back in April 2014 about slow rendering with New Blue filters applied

Re: Newblue FX filters question
Hi
Yes using the Colour Fast filter did take approx 2hrs 40 minutes to render a 6 minute MTS video file.
That is far to long for anyone to wait.
I did not test the other FX filters

Re: Newblue FX filters question
Lata and RobertOZ,
Thank you for looking into this and confirming my findings. I read as many posts regarding NewblueFX filters in this forum, before posting.
I did the same test with VS X7 32bit and had same results. This makes me think that even though the filters are 64bit compatible, they do not use multiple CPU effectively, because even with the 32bit version I noticed that not all CPUs were used (in my case 4 core hyper-threading = 8 CPU). Maybe a question to ask the folks from Newblue.
Regards,
- Wilfred
