I have just tried installing Essentials VI to X9, inserting the correct installation path as outlined above. The installation routine automatically detected X8 and X7 (as I hadn't before installed these Essentials on them) so I manually added the X9 installation path. However, on opening X9 Essentials VI did not show in the FX window, either as a category (NewBlue Video Essentials VI) or the individual ten filters in the package. They did, however, appear in both X7 and X8.

I then tried the renaming of the 19.0 folder in AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Video Studio Pro x64, and that didn't work either. So I simply copied the X8 Essentials VI filters to the X9 vft_plug folder. On opening X9, they were all there, and appear to work. I have not yet been asked for the serial number.

I then tried Essentials III but had exactly the same experience. Again, copying them from X8 to X9 seems to have done the trick.

But to reiterate -- regarding your question about the 32 bit versions -- as both RobertOZ and Corel have indicated, no 32 bit filters will ever work in a 64 bit program.

Thanks ken...i got that 32 bit wont work in 64
Video essentials VI is all installed. Came up on the list of fx. Havent tested but but they look like they will be fine.

I have installers for 64 bit versions of those transition packages. Was just wondering if anyone has gotten them to work. Why do we have the sampler pack if there are no other transitions that will work???

NB are no longer providing any filters for the lower end of the NLE market, the only way now, is when the NLE providers themselves add NB packages, I also have some NB filters that whilst they have the Corel 64 bit installers, they are not "seen" by VS, and NB confirm that these filters will not work with VS

Ugh. So dissappointing!!! Really!! And of course they dont support X7 anymore. Way to keep customer loyalty?!!!
If Ive installed VSX9 64 bit... Can I also run Vs x7 32 bit on same machine?? With Win 10. And if I can will I run into any of the issues w those windows updates??

Unfortunately that's true. 3D explosions, 3D transformations, Art Blends...do not work on Corel Videostudio anymore. I used to have them on VS Ultimate X6 but now they don't.

Yes you can have VSX7 32 bit and VSX9 64 bit installed, obviously you cannot have both open at the same time, if you have installed the patches provided by Corel you should not have any issue with those problem updates

hi.. running into a little issue installing these New Blue Filters... particularly Video Essentials VI ( VE6)

I'm on Win 10, and installed VS X9 64bit. I downloaded and installed VE6 without issue

Recently, I decided to install VS X8 32 bit --- in addition to having X9 64bit --- The reason for this was so that I could get all the NEW BLUE transitions packages to work (3d explosions, transformations etc) - they are only available for 32bit and I was really missing them.)
I tried to install Video Essentials 6 to version 8x ( I have a valid license so I downloaded fr new blue site) and VSX8 failed to open after the install. Ironically, VE6 also disappeared from VSX9. I then went to OZ's link below for VE6, and this time it was a smoother install.. I checked Corel VIdeo Studio and Corel Video Studio 64 during the installation, figuring it would install to both programs. VE6 reappeared in VSX9, but it won't open in 8??! The files are in the VFT folder, but for some reason, they don't appear in the program. I think I may be missing the dll file that is the application extension file??

Is it possible to have the filters working in both programs?

If so would I just copy that file from 64bit vft folder to 32bit folder, or do I have to reinstall??

thoughts? thanks!

and I was able to reinstall the 3D explosions, 3D transformations, Art Blends, transition effect to VSX8 32bit on win 10... they didn't find the path on their own. I had to install them and then copy the vfx files to the vfx folder.

planning to post in the wish list for future versions what a sham it is that NB isn't writing these transition effects in 64bit... frankly its BS... they have a sampler pack available in VSX9 64 bit -- who coded those? and to say they don't support consumer grade software is also not true as many of the transitions are available in my Adobe Premier Elements and Cyberlink Power Director -- both consumer grade programs. The very nature in my opinion of a "New blue sampler pack" would indicate that these are samples and more are available for purchase.. something doesn't add up and it's not fair to the user/consumer Corel is misleading the end user by including this sampler pack.. I'm happy to have them, but more should be available.

Are you sure you don't have a file named NBVideoEssentials6.dll in the 32 bit folder? There should also be a NBVideoEssentials6.chm file and a NBVideoEssentials6Lang.xml file.

If the actual filter files are in the VFT folder, then perhaps you will need to do the renaming of the 18.0 folder in AppData as outlined above.

As for simply copying the file from the 64 bit to the 32 bit folder, you could try it but since the NB dll files all have '64' included in their names (NBVideoEssentials664.dll), I suspect that you will find they will simply not work in the 32 bit environment.

definitely don't have these files, NBVideoEssentials6.dll, NBVideoEssentials6.chm, file and a NBVideoEssentials6Lang.xml file, in the 32 bit folder.

I guess the question is can I have them working in both?? X9 64bit and X832bit?? maybe that is a question for new blue?? I selected both folders on the install...

the files in X8 could have been there from a prior attempt to install, as I have all the correct filter files in the folder , chroma key, color replace, cut away etc..

hmmmmm
