Good News: NewblueFx compatible to Corel X7 now.

Specially for those who have purchased any NewBlue Fx products in the past for Corel X4, X5 and X6 which could not run on the newest X7 64 bits, now it's possible. I've just received a letter from Edward, one of the experts from NewblueFx which says:

Well, I am one user who bought NB Video Essentials packs I - VI. I have just, as a test, downloaded Pack VI from your links and installed it in my VS X7 64 bit, and am pleased to say that it works just fine when I applied some of the pack's filters to test videos. I will now download and install the other packs, but think I am finally going to be a happy camper!!

Just for the record, the installation process asks you to designate a path for installation in Corel VS (as well as Cyberlink, Pinnacle and Magix if you have those programs -- though surprisingly Sony is no longer mentioned, though I had already installed all the packs in my Sony Movie Studio Platinum 64 bit and they worked). And once installed, a dialogue box appears noting that it is a trial installation unless you have the serial number for the pack to activate it. I entered my serial number and that worked too.

That's correct Ken. During the installation we have to make sure to select C:\Program Files\NewBlue\ for the 64bits.

We can thank Yvonne for applying pressure on New Blue to rectify this problem which has been ongoing for the past year. That leaves me with a dilemma, having the 32 bit version set up exactly how I want it, do I now uninstall, then install the 64 bit version, I have some custom titles which can only be installed in the 32 bit version, maybe I will just wait for VSX8

I own all the NewBlue FX video essentials and already installed in my system.
I bought VS X7 Ultimate but not properly installed yet.
When VS is installed I suppose I have to run again the NewBlue effects in order to get them on the Corel product.
My question is when running the NewBlue installation always show the folder or ask for a new folder where the installation files will be, what will be the specific folder for the Corel VS?

During the installation you have to make sure to select C:\Program Files\NewBlue\ for the 64bits, to spefy the Destination Folder for Corel X7 64bits.

... and more specifically it is the vft_plug subfolder which should be included in the destination address.

If the New Blue installer cannot find the destination folder and asks you to add the file path, the full path is C;ProgramFiles.Corel.CorelVideoStudioUltimateX7.vft_plug or C;ProgramFiles.Corel.CorelVideoStudioProX7.vft_plug depending on which version os VSX7 is installed

One thing I have noticed with the 64 bit versions included with VSX7, if you compare the file sizes of the VSX7 included versions with the New Blue installed versions, there is a considerable difference in size

IE: New Blue Detail Enhancer - Corel version 201KB, New Blue version 434KB
New Blue Auto Balance _ Corel version 336KB, New Blue version 434KB

and so on,
Not saying that there is any difference between the 2 versions, would need to try out each version fully to test that, just an observation.

can you run me through this process for VSX9 ultimate...
like you, i have all the new blue fx packages and rely on them heavily. I never updated my VSX7 to 64 bit, and hence never upgraded the new blue fx either.

Will be upgrading all on new computer running Win 10, VSX9 and need the new blue fx... do these links still work and what is the process. I have all my license numbers...

hoping that I will be able to use these!

Also -- any idea what happens when you open a 32bit vsp file, created in X7 in the X9 64 bit version? I'm smart packaging a lot of my older projects... I assume they will open, but I'm guessing the new blue fx won't play. maybe they are replaced, or just blanked out??

thanks.. most important item is to get the new blue working if possible in X9!

Hi Ilene,
Firstly, New Blue 32 bit will not work in VSX9 64 bit
Download the 64 bit installers listed above
Then install each Legacy package in turn, you may or may not be asked for the license key, depending whether or not the 32 bit versions are already installed
Select Corel 64 bit
If the New Blue Installer cannot find the destination folder for VSX9, it will ask you to add the file path
The file path is C:ProgramFiles\Corel\CorelVideoStudioX9\vft_plug

The 32 bit wont be installed. Gonna leave them as is on my win 7 pc and just move on. Hope this will work! (New pc arrives next week. Will update this thread!)

Probably a new blue question but since its the weekend i thought i would ask here.

I have installed most of my new blue packages in VSX9 on a NEW computer, 64 bit versions... Im having trouble w 3 of them. One is video essentials VI that I purchased through Corel. The license # is good but the error message says its already installed on another computer. No way do I want to deactivate the 32 bit version on my old computer... I need that as a safety net and i need it to open older projects. Has anyone come across this? Didnt think there was a limit?

Another 2 packages, motion blends and art blends, im getting a message that the serial # is in use by another account. Hmmm

I heard new blue is pretty helpful(?) but at the same time they dont really support Corel Products anymore? I hope i can get new numbers or repurchase if necessary. Have had these in 32 bit version for a long time and rely on them heavily!

Even found some old email w new blue... Turns out when x7 was released the new blue only worked in 32 bit... It jogged my memory as to why i never installed X7 as 64 bit to begin with (!)

Hope to get this resolved... Just curious if others have had issues --- im sure the issue is the new computer? moght have been smoother to install on the older computer where the 32bit already lived?

What about new blue transition packages that were available in 32bit?? Will they work in Vsx9?

sorry for all the posts, but I'm terribly confused.

just installed VSX9..on brand new computer. Win 10, 64bit.

I was able to install Video Essentials VI without issue (new blue had to reset my serial number and then it worked)

Video Essentials, and Video Essentials II, IV, V, and VII came pre-loaded ( although New Blue Fx Support suggested they should be watermarked...and that I would need to purchase, but they are not. )

New Blue Support has said that NONE of my 32bit legacy transition packages will work in 64bit. I have installers for 64bit transition packages such as 3D explosions, 3D transformations, Art Blends... but NEW BLUE repeatedly said NO TRANSTIONS will work in 64bit version. Is this true??? can't imagine why the program comes loaded with a new blue transition sampler pack?? I haven't tried yet-- thought I should check in here first.

Has anyone tried yet to install 64bit versions of the transitions??

sorry I'm so late to the game here... it's taken me a while to get my new computer.
these are transitions are pretty essential -- I HOPE THERE IS A SOLUTION??
