Flash Objects packages Vol 1 Install Issue

Post by jdowney »

Hi,

I recently purchased the Flash Objects packages (Vol 1, 2, 3) from Corel as described below. I downloaded the files (.exe) and I ran the exe files in Administrator mode. It seemed to install correctly, but nothing happened.

ISSUE: How do I integrate this software with VideoStudio X7 Ultimate. That was the reason I bought the software. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thank you.

Jeff

Has anyone ever used / Installed Flash Objects?

Do you know if they install individually or can you install them in the folders that they came in?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You know where the files are?
Why not import them then?

I think asik is correct. The Flash Objects are really just video clips, which can be imported into VS and used from wherever they have been installed. The link would just be the 'Import media' command in VS when you right click in either the timeline or the library window. Here is what Corel has to say about using them:
Unzip the pack and you will see all the swf files are in the folder. In VideoStudio, click “Import media file” button to import them into the media library for further use.

Don't forget that you can import them into the existing VideoStudio flash animation folder

Hi Everybody,

I did import them into the Flash Animation folder successfully, and they are now available for drag and drop usage. Thank you to everybody!

However, this is an OK workaround.. BUT I was hoping for a different outcome. When you receive the software (I bought Volumes 1,2,3) the .swf files each come in a neat and very useful file folder. For example, Background, Lighting, Awards, Snow scenes, etc I would like to install the file folders containing the .swf files properly categorized. Does anybody know how to do this?

If not that is OK, but I just added over 50 files to Flash Animation, and the library is starting to get a bit messy. That's all.
Once again I would like to thank every body for their help!

I think our basic message is that the swf files don't have to be anywhere special. You just navigate to wherever they are on your computer and import/insert them using the VS commands. So they don't have to be in the Flash Animination folder; or if they are, there is nothing to say you cannot create sub-folders in that folder, labelled Background, Lighting etc, and in your project import them from the relevant sub-folder.

Hi Ken,

I tried to create them and was unable to import the folders. I was only able to import the .swf files within each folder. Do you know how to import the folder name into the VS libraries? OR CONVERSELY Do you know how to add folders under some of the existing VS folder names? For Instance, Flash Animation...

Thank you.

Do you know how to import the folder name into the VS libraries?
If I am understanding you correctly, in Windows File Explorer, i simply right click on the folder/sub-folder and choose Copy. Then I go to the folder where I want the new sub-folder, right click in a clear space and choose Paste. Just tried it and it worked (though in the case of the folder I was copying, I got a dialogue box saying I need Admin clearance to carry out the paste...
CONVERSELY Do you know how to add folders under some of the existing VS folder names?
Again if I am understanding you correctly, I just open the folder where I want to create the new sub-folder. Then right click in a clear space in the folder window and in the context menu which appears, I select New > Folder. Then give it any name I want. I just tried it and it certainly works in my set-up.
