X7 Ultimate ProDad Install Issue

Post by jdowney »

Hi,

I recently purchased the ProDad Effects package from Corel as described below. I downloaded the files (.exe) and I ran the exe files in Administrator mode. It seemed to install correctly, and I have a standalone working copy of this software.

ISSUE: How do I integrate this software with VideoStudio X7 Ultimate. That was the reason I bought the software. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thank you.

Jeff

I did but a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away! IIRC it was with VS X2... so I am clutching at fading memories and straws here. But I seem to recall that a single Adorage entry showed up on the FX (or transitions?) window. You applied it to a clip, then when you clicked on Customise Filter it opened the stand-alone Adorage where you chose exactly which filter/transition you were after, fiddled with it, then when you were finished and OK'd out, it was applied in the VS project...

Hi Ken,

Thank you for trying to help me. The issue I am having is how to integrate the software into the FX library or any of the other VS libraries. There doesn't seem to be a ADD Files option. I am wandering Is the a special import or load feature? Do I have to manually load the software into special VS file folders, etc...

Once the proDad exe is run, it seems that all I end up with is a stand alone proDad application.

Can you confirm that, after installation, nothing referring to Adorage shows up in the FX screen of VS, and that there is no reference to it in either the vft_plug or vfx_plug sub-folders in your Video Studio folder under Program Files?

Hi Ken,

That is exactly what I can confirm. All that is in my FX folder und proDad is 4 files: Mercalli 2.0, RotoPen, Script, and Vitascene 2.0

no Andorage reference to it in either the vft_plug or vfx_plug sub-folders

However, I do have a standalone proDad Andorage app

Hi Jeff

What version of Video Studio have you installed, 32 bit or 64 bit?
Then did you install the same plug-in version.
Although installing the wrong version should show an error, I would have thought

Maybe that seems daft, but worth a look?

Hi Lata,

Hey any help I can get is greatly appreciated...

I have X7 Ultimate 64-bit installed. I do not know how to install the 64 bit plugin, so I simply ran the

1. the proDad software exe
2. the plugin exe

both files were run as an administrator. I could not tell what it did, but it executed successfully. I now have a standalone proDad app, but it is not integrated with the VS libraries...

I just downloaded and installed the trial version of Adorage 12 64 bit as the 10 package you bought did not have a trial available. But 12 is said to also be fully compatible with Video Studio. However, on installing it, I did not even get a stand-alone version as it says Adorage.exe is missing! I tried reinstalling, but got the same result. Moreover, I can only find sub-folders for Sony and Adobe Premiere, but none for Corel (though in my other proDAD products I have Corel sub-folders). So I can only imagine that for some reason or other the trial version is not fully compatible or there is something wrong with it (though it installed with no problem).

I might note here that the proDAD website shows compatibility only up to VS X5, though the fact that Corel is reselling it and indicating it is compatible with 64 bit X7 probably indicates the proDAD website is just out of date... I guess...

I'm afraid that's about as far as I can help. I suggest you approach proDAD for assistance given that that is probably what Corel tech support is likely to say as well...
