Windows 10 Testing.....With VideoStudio Pro X5 Ultimate

Post by mitcs0ke »

Thought I would let everyone know that I have been testing Windows 10 for the past 2 months.
Its still in Alpha testing and we have not made it to Beta testing yet.
I put Windows 10 on a old Dell XPS 410 with a Intel Q6600 quad core processor with just 4Gb Ram
and a 160gb hard drive and its runs way faster than the Windows Vista that It came with!!
So dont give up on the older computers yet!!

Yesterday I installed and tested Videostudio Pro X5 Ultimate and everything ran Great.
The install had no problems at all. Just to really stress it out, I loaded a 3gb AVCHD HD file in MTS format
and did a DVD!! The time from start to finish, render to DVD finish was 10 minutes!!!!
In windows Vista this would have taken 30 to 40 minutes minimum just to render on this computer
not counting DVD burn time. Dvd came out great no problems.

From the feed back from other Windows 10 testers I have seen, No one has reported having problems
with Videostudio but anything from Sony Vegas above version 11 is having problems. Version 13 runs fine until you
go to render and then it just crashes.

Some testers are also reporting problems with GUI render. This could be because of Video Card drivers no ready yet mostly with Nvidia.
I have a older Nvidia card but have had no problems at all with it.
Also since its a older Nvidia card it does not support GUI render so I could not test that.

I don't have Copies of Videostudio 6 or 7 I could test but with the way VS5 ran they should have no problems.

If any Windows 10 testers report problems with Corel Products I will try to keep you informed.

Thanks
