hi,
i've got the problem with PSP that a font family with different font styles (ie. extralight, light, regular, medium, semibold, ...) is showing just as one font type and i cannot choose the other styles "inside". (Photoshop has a dropdown list for that)
how can i make visible those fonts?
or am i missing something?

Which version of PSP are you using? Give a couple of examples of the fonts you are referring to. Not enough information in your first post.

Re: Font family variant showing just one font style
Even a link to the font so that others can download and attempt to duplicate on their systems to see if it is common to all systems and all versions of PSP as fonts are a part of the Windows system and PSP can normally only access them if they are installed on that system.
(In XP I could double click the ttf and then minimise it to the task bar and that font would then be available in PSP , and then no longer available when the ttf window was closed. ie temporarily installed as long as that window stayed .
In win 7 you have to actualy install the font to make it available so it can take up extra space and loading time.

Re: Font family variant showing just one font style
yes, i gave no information, i thought that it is a common problem.
here are the details:
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit
PSP: X5
all fonts are installed with windows
i've got problem e.g. with these Raleway fonts, all ttf format, 18 of them, but in PSP only 1 visible and accessible. (in Photoshop i can see and use all 18).
hope these details help you to help me

Re: Font family variant showing just one font style
I had a look at the fonts.
I checked with the arial font already loaded on my windows.
IN PSP I can only access 3 versions Arial, Arial Black and Arial Narrow, yet checking in the windows fonts file shows 9 versions available.
In XP I can double click a ttf font and it shows details on that font and it is temporarily available in PSP IF its name is different from others there.
Looking at the Raleway fonts, Each has a main name eg Raleway Thin Italic (True Type)
Then it has :
Typeface Name : Raleway
File Size 139 KB
Any of the other 18 fonts had the same Typeface Name : Raleway whereas perhaps it should be eg Raleway Black
I did some searching to see if the Typeface Name could be edited and changed.
http://www.dafont.com/forum/read/78199/ ... fonts-name
It would seem that PSP uses the Typeface Name rather than the File name.

From this page:When fonts have multiple weights, (bold, italic, bold italic, light, black, etc.), and were properly made, the font will appear only once in the installed fonts list for the app you're using, and the non Regular weights are accessed through the formatting tools.
